Literacy LearningThis is a featured page

The primary focus of our ESOL programme is to develop each child's English skills. To do this the students work in groups on speaking and listening tasks, reading and writing. To provide contexts for learning, the students are involved in language experiences including practical activities, visits and creating digital work on computers to record and share their ideas. Development of vocabulary, spelling, sentence structure and grammar are essential parts of our literacy teaching programmes and are integrated into topic work.

Term Two
This term we are going to be learning to retell a fable or traditional tale in lots of different ways. We have had lots of fun making slide shows of how the elephant got his long nose. For an example of this see our home page.
